Spring Break!

Yes! Finally! I get a whole week of relaxing nothingness. I finished my last final yesterday and went to lunch with my mom in the dorm dining hall. I celebrated by overeating and then taking a long nap at home before waking up, writing an application essay for summer, and then eating again. Ah, the joys of home life.

Then today, I slept till late afternoon and then went to dinner at Long Long (Food Cabin, in English--how much do they need a new English name?). We had chow mein, which was mediocre, cooked greens (A-tsai, yum!), and vegetarian sheng jian bao, which are buns filled with chopped vegetables (meat if you don't order it vegetarian). Delicious!

Sheng Jian Bao

After dinner, I went shopping...for swimsuits! I know, the bane of every overweight girl's existence. But, it was actually pretty fun. I'm looking for a cute tankini in a bright color without any crazy patterns or ugly designs. Found a couple, but I'm not sure which is my favorite right now. I might be going to the beach with some friends on Saturday, so I need to decide soon! I think the recent skirtsuit trend is great for anyone who fancies themself a little chubby or who just wants some more cover. But then I just think skirts are cute in general, haha. We'll see.

Shaved Ice

Went to Sin Ba La after shopping, and had the bao bing (shaved ice) with lychee, rice balls, boba, two types of jelly (grass and ai yu), red beans, green beans, pudding, and of course, lots of sugar water and condensed milk. Yum! You'd think I'd be incredibly full after all that, but that's where you'd be wrong! Because I then went home to bake two batches of oatmeal raisin cookies, four of which I ate. They were ugly, though, and keeping them uneaten would have made the rest of the cookies look bad. That's my story, and I'm sticking to it.

Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

So, wow, in the span of a day and a half, I have eaten more than I usually would in a few days. Excellent! And I didn't exercise. I think I've got it out of my system now, though, so the rest of spring break will be more laid back, just eating what I really want to enjoy and getting some exercise.

Gigantic Turkey Leg

I'm jetting to Disneyland tomorrow, and I plan on bringing my own dinner and eating one of those big turkey legs for lunch, so I won't have to fall under the trap of their overpriced, bland, fatty foods. There will be plenty of walking too, so hopefully, it won't be too bad. Exercise will (must!) start Saturday! Unless I go to the beach. In that case, Sunday!
